St-Nabor is a Roman Catholic parish church in the locality of the same name Saint-Nabor ( Bas-Rhin department ) in France . The church is inscribed on the French Cultural Heritage Register.

history

The oldest part of the church consecrated to St. Naborius , which originally belonged to the Niedermünster monastery , is the Romanesque former choir tower from the 12th century with its massive buttresses. The art historian Walter Hotz suspects that the nave, which was rebuilt in the 18th century, is essentially a Gothic building. The sacristy was built in the 16th century, the transept and choir were added in 1899 and the church portal, which was located at the end of the nave, was moved into the tower wall. With the new building of the choir in the west, the tower only serves as a bell tower.
