The Roman Catholic Church of St-Pierre is located in Veymerange , a district of Thionville in the Moselle department in France . The church is inscribed on the register of cultural heritage in France.

history

St-Pierre was built around 1250 by the Abbey of St-Pierre-aux-Nonnains as a branch church of the parish of St-Jean-Baptiste in Volkrange . In the 15th century, the first church building was replaced by a larger Gothic church with a rectangular choir and a choir flank tower in the corner of the nave and choir. In 1804 the parish of Volkrange and the elevation of St-Pierre to the parish church took place. In 1860 the nave was enlarged by a third due to the growth of the community. A late Gothic tabernacle has been preserved in the choir , which, as in a number of other village churches in Lorraine, has a rosette window with tracery on the outside .
