history

The St. Johannis Chapel in Hanover-Bemerode was built in 1867 based on a design by Wilhelm Lüer on historical land. A chapel was mentioned in a document as early as 1321 at the same location. In 1825 the first chapel was demolished because it was in disrepair. The bell dates from 1697. The chapel is now used for baptisms, weddings and special services.

The Friends of Bemeroder Kapelle eV has existed since 2005 and was founded by the citizens of Bemeroder in order to grant the restoration and renovation of the chapel and to preserve it for the future.
