The listed St. Peter and Paul Church in Labrun was relocated to its current state of construction in 1616. Hedwig of Denmark had the then dilapidated church repaired together with the local school.

description

The church is a plastered half-timbered building with a five-sided east end . The building has an octagonal roof turret with a tail hood facing west . The interior of the church, which dates from the late Renaissance period, is the result of the construction of the church.

Interior

The four fillings of the patronage stalls show the evangelists Matthew - Mark - Luke - John . The triptych-like altarpiece has two columns and the paintings of the two church patrons Peter and Paul . It has a tail-like frame and the donor's monogram is in the extract . The wooden crucifix on the altar is dated to 1701. The sandstone baptism , standing on a baluster base , dates from 1579 and is in the shape of a calyx. The wooden pulpit with sound cover and sacristy cheek dates from around 1600. Next to the pulpit is a painting depicting the resurrection . There is also a wooden hourglass from the Baroque period in the church.

Others

The year 1632 on the entrance portal of the church indicates the year of completion of the renovation work begun by Hedwig of Denmark.

The church in Labrun was hit by a flood in 2002 . When the damage was recorded, it was found that the structure had already been badly damaged by dry rot in the last few decades. By plastering over the framework, this damage to the load-bearing structure went unnoticed for a long time. The existing danger of collapse for the building could, however, be averted by means of subsidies and donations and the possible restoration of the building's stability.

Labrun belongs to the parish area Annaburg-Prettin Klöden-II in the church district Wittenberg the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
