St. Aegidius (Neusäß)
The Catholic parish church of St. Giles in the Bürgermeister-Kaifer-Straße in Neusäß was built by Thomas Wechs from 1951 to 1953 . The associated parish of St. Giles belongs to the deanery Augsburg-Land .
Next to the church, near Remboldstrasse, is the chapel of St. Giles, the core of which dates from the 16th century. A small park with a pond was created around the chapel, the Aegidius Park. Church and chapel are consecrated to St. Aegidius and both are protected architectural monuments .
church
The church is a vertical hall structure with a rhythmic wall pillar structure with a slim tower ending in a needle point. The portal axis is emphasized by superposition ( superposition ) of holy figures. The parsonage belonging to it is a two-storey saddle roof structure that was built at the same time and adjoins the church to the south.
The upper altar painting Lamentation of Christ is a work by the Augsburg church painter Karl Radinger from 1963. A figure of Our Lady in the church dates from the beginning of the 18th century.

The Aegidius Chapel originally belonged to the old “Remboldschlösschen”. It was renewed in 1602 and extended in 1711. The chapel is a hall building with a three-sided end. On the east side there is a tower with a hood .
