St. Aegidius

The Protestant village church St. Aegidius is in the Beichlingen district of the city of Kölleda in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia .

history

Today's St. Aegidius Church was built between 1931 and 1932 because the previous building burned to the ground in 1930 for the parish festival . This burnt down church dates from 1710, which is carved on a stone of the sacristy . However, the foundations are considerably older, but this was not scientifically documented when the new building was built.

The previous building of the Beichlingen village church from 1710 was built with stones from the abandoned Monraburg .

At the cemetery , the burial place of the family is of Werthern -Beichlingen. In addition, 16 men who died in the First World War are honored on a war memorial .

The church is a listed building .
