The St. Anna Church is a listed church building in Bödexen , a district of Höxter in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The church building was built from 1681 to 1683. The church consecration took place on August 1, 1683, with great participation from the Corveyer Konvent.

The church tower was only subsequently built in 1923. This was suggested by Pastor Johannes Todt, as there was great poverty in the village at that time. The old roof turret was recycled as building material. In 1941, the previously colorless windows were replaced by colored windows showing various motifs, such as the Archangel Michael fighting a dragon and others.

The painting of the crucifixion of Jesus was designed by the artist Hans Werdehausen , who comes from Bödexen .

In the 1960s, the Roman Catholic parish in Bödexen built a new church building elsewhere and St. Anne's Church was to be demolished. Instead, the church was desecrated and the association for the preservation of the historic St. Anna Church in Bödexen was founded. The building was on July 8, 1985 under monument protection provided.
