St. Antonius Hermit (Braunshausen)
The Roman Catholic Church of St. Antonius Einsiedler , also called St. Antonius Church, is a listed church building in Braunshausen , a district of Hallenberg .
history
Construction of the church began in 1898. The foundation stone was laid in the following year. The builder was the German architect Franz Mündelein . The building was built in the neo-Gothic style. Auxiliary Bishop Augustinus Gockel consecrated the church on August 8, 1903 in the name of Saint Anthony the Hermit .
In 1908 the church received its organ from the Stockmann brothers' organ building workshop .
In the beginning there were three bells of different sizes in the tower, which were cast around 1900 by the Edelbrock bell and art foundry . Only the smallest bell survived the First and Second World Wars . A chime to control the church bell was installed in 1963.
Since December 30, 1983, the church building has been entered in Part A of the list of monuments of the city of Hallenberg.
