Balthasar von Schlieben

Balthasar von Schlieben (Latin: Balthazar de Sliwen , inter alia; † after 1485 ) was provost in Lebus and Magdeburg and electoral councilor in Brandenburg .

Life

Balthasar came from the Baruth branch of the von Schlieben family . He was a cousin of Liborius von Schlieben , Bishop of Lebus.

In 1424 a Balthasar von Schlieben was mentioned as a canon in Magdeburg. In 1434 he was enrolled at the University of Rostock .

From 1449, Balthasar von Schlieben was a chaplain and electoral councilor to Friedrich II of Brandenburg . In 1458 he was Provost of Lebus (last mentioned in 1479). In 1463 Balthasar was mentioned as a canon in the St. Nikolai Monastery in Stendal , and in 1468 as a senior in the Magdeburg Cathedral Monastery (last mentioned in 1485).

In 1474 he was endowed with a parish in Cottbus .

In 1479, Balthasar von Schlieben was the chaplain of the Elector Albrecht Achilles . In 1483 he was provost at St. Sebastian Abbey in Magdeburg. It was mentioned for the last time in 1485.
