St. Barbara and Antonius (Waldhausen)
The Catholic Chapel of St. Barbara and Antonius is a listed church building in Waldhausen , a district of Warstein in the Soest district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The previous building was built in 1625 by the Land Commander of the Teutonic Order. Today's chapel is a small, plastered hall with a polygonal choir and a west tower . It was built by Franz Aßhoff in 1923. The window frames and the corner blocks are made of sandstone.
Furnishing
Most of the equipment comes from the previous building.
- The Barbara altar was made in 1783 by Brother Liborius from Soest, the altar painting is a work by HW Kleine.
- Several figures of saints date from the 18th century
- The crescent moon Madonna was carved by Johannes Leonhard Falter in 1780.
