St. Bernhard (Fürstenfeldbruck)
The St. Bernhard Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the west of Fürstenfeldbruck .
history
Originally, after the Second World War, in the west of Fürstenfeldbruck, where many displaced persons settled, a curate was initially founded in 1953 . Due to the arduous route to the Fürstenfeld monastery church (at that time there was no bridge over the Amper in the west of the city ), the parish curate Johann Kögl used two buses to take the faithful there to the Sunday service. So it made sense to build a church in the west of Fürstenfeldbruck.
Establishment
The church was built on the corner of Rotschwaiger Strasse and Richard-Higgins-Strasse according to the plans of the architect Franz Berberich , the Eichenau artist Josef Dering was awarded the contract for the glass design . The church was consecrated in 1964. A year later, St. Bernhard received the status of an independent parish. Today there is also a kindergarten attached to the church.
