The St. Claren Church is the church of the village Blekendorf (municipality Blekendorf in the district Plön in Schleswig-Holstein ).

It was built from 1227 at the instigation of Adolf IV , Count of Schauenburg and Holstein , in the early Gothic style and named after Clare of Assisi .

The church was first mentioned in 1255.

It is a hall church made of field stones with a gable roof covered with roof tiles. The lower third of the 55 meter high tower consists of field stones, then of bricks and is covered with slate . It was built about 200 years after the church hall and was rebuilt twice after fires in 1906 and 1910.

In 1994 the church was extensively renovated.

The church is run by the Ev-Luth. Blekendorf parish used.
