St. Crucis (Landsberg)
St. Crucis is a listed Protestant chapel in the town of Landsberg in Saxony-Anhalt . The church is a station on the Romanesque Road .
history
The chapel is located on the Kapellenberg, a porphyry dome in Landsberg. Landsberg Castle once stood on Kapellenberg , the chapel is the only remaining part of this castle. The chapel, donated by the House of Wettin , was built in 1170. It is a double chapel , a chapel in which the worship service between rulers and servants was spatially separated. This design was typical for castles and monasteries of the Staufer period . Bricks were used in the construction of the chapel , which is unusual for the area.
In the local register of monuments , the chapel is listed as a monument under registration number 094 55189 .
