history

The history of the church dates back to the year 950, when she by the Queen Mathilde , wife of King Henry I, was rebuilt. The church fell victim to city fires several times and was repeatedly rebuilt; last in 1860.

The church was again badly damaged in a lightning strike in 1909. The church tower burned down, and the nave was also affected. Errors in the reconstruction caused the authorities to have the tower demolished and the building to be closed in 1958.

The building is a listed building .

A support association "Reconstruction of the bell tower" was founded.
