The St. Joseph Church is a Catholic church in the Leverkusen district of Manfort . It is the seat of the parish of the same name in the pastoral care area of Leverkusen Southeast.
history
The three-aisled church made of plastered brick masonry shows work stone structures. The transept and the west tower with its slate spire and lantern are partly in Gothic-style. The church was consecrated on December 21, 1913.
Furnishing
The brothers Erwin and Helmut Plönes created the neo-Gothic window with the Christmas story above the main altar.
Bells
In the year of the consecration, in 1913, the renowned Otto bell foundry from Hemelingen / Bremen supplied two bronze bells for the St. Joseph Church with the tones dis 'and f sharp'. Only the small f sharp bell still exists today. The larger dis-bell in been melted down due to the war. After the Second World War, the community acquired steel bells from the Bochum Association to avoid repeated bells being confiscated.
