St. Joseph Marienmünster-Bredenborn

St. Joseph is a Catholic parish church in the Bredenborn district of the East Westphalian town of Marienmünster in the Höxter district . It belongs to the Marienmünster Pastoral Association in the Höxter Dean's Office of the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

history

Shortly after the Thirty Years' War the parish was founded in 1652 and the first church in Bredenborn was consecrated to Saints St. Joseph and St. Agatha .

The old church was demolished from 1861 to 1862 and built on the old foundation walls by today's church. The church tower bears the year 1861.

Furnishing

The high altar (around 1904) comes from the Wiedenbrück school and was consecrated in 1906 by Wilhelm Schneider . The last restoration took place in 1994.

In 1952 the church received the current organ.

At the cemetery is the grave of Archpriest Paul Peikert , who was pastor there during the siege of Wroclaw.
