St. Laurentius Church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Laurentius is located in Kaltenwestheim , a district of Kaltennordheim in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

history

The previous church was built between 1600 and 1606. The architect was a Mr. Hubertus and the sculptor Abius. After a major fire in 1796 destroyed this church, the current church (except for the church tower ) was rebuilt on the foundation walls three years later . The baptismal font of the old church was preserved.
