The Evangelical Lutheran Laurentius Church in Perniö , a district of the southwestern Finnish city of Salo , was built between 1460 and 1480. Historically documented renovations took place during the 17th century and in 1866, 1904 and 1963.

Furnishing

  • Ship model, late 16th century, probably one of the oldest of its kind in Finland
  • Coats of arms of the families Slang (1614), Sabel (1635), Gyllenhierta (1662), Ulf (1681) and Ehrenpreis (1686), were previously used at funerals
  • St. Brigitta of Sweden , wooden sculpture , 14th century
  • Cross , 14th century, painting from 1692
  • Altar from 1884, altar painting by L. Myra from 1703 with frame from 1667
  • Mary with the baby Jesus, wooden sculpture from the 14th century
  • St. Christopher , wall painting from around 1480
  • Chest from the 17th century
  • Organ (1964), organ builder: Kangasalan Urkutehdas, 31 stops , 3 manuals

The graves under the choir floor still contain the remains of the people who were buried here.

The wall paintings are of medieval origin. They were painted in several periods and restored in 1904 and 1962–1964.
