St. Lupus is the name of a former Catholic parish, parish church and hospital in the north of Cologne's old town at today's Trankgasse .

Its patronage was that of the French saint Lupus , saint Kunibert is said to have been its founder. It belonged to the St. Kunibert Abbey , was later a cathedral parish and was first mentioned as a parish church in 1171 in a foundation for the annual memory of Archbishop Rainald von Dassel with 13 other parishes and chapels. Until it was demolished in 1808, the church stood at the intersection of Trankgasse and Maximinenstraße on the site of today's central station forecourt . The square steeple of the single-nave church had a pointed helmet similar to that of St. Ursula at that time and that of St. Severin today . In written evidence for the first beer consumption in Cologne on the occasion of the death of Archbishop Hermann III. von Hochstaden already mentioned the name St. Lupus in connection with the hospital in 1099.

In 1515 a Brotherhood of Joseph was founded at St. Lupus with the approval of the Archbishop of Cologne, Hermann V. von Wied . On the condition that they prayed three times every Sunday for the salvation of their deceased confreres and sisters, the poor were allowed to become members free of charge.

The sermon pulpit from 1630 is now in the parish church of St. Brictius .
