Ivan Tsarevich
Ivan Tsarevich ( Russian Иван Царевич or Иван-царевич , Ivan the Tsar's Son ) is a Russian fairy tale hero . He is a good figure and widespread among the people.

Ivan is usually, but not always, the youngest son of three. In some stories one of his brothers is called Piotr or Dimitri and the other is Vasily. He is the son of the tsar (hence the name tsarevich = tsar's son ), but here too some stories vary.
Ivan is sometimes described as having magical abilities , he is said to have the sword Kladenez (меч-кладенец). In several fairy tales he got a wife, such as Jelena the Beautiful, Wasilisa the Wise or Maria Morewna. In addition to rescuing a woman in need, Ivan often has to defeat the evil Koschei , make friends with the gray wolf or catch a firebird .
