St. Maria is the Catholic parish church in the Waltenhofen district of Hegge . Her patronage is “Mary, Queen of the Apostles ” ( feast of the patronage on May 8th).

history

At the end of the 1940s, the church was built by recruited unemployed people and finished in 1947.

Interior of the church

The building materials were brought here from the quarry to people .

The church was consecrated on August 19, 1951.

description

The exterior is characterized by gray quarry stone. It is a hall building with a retracted choir and a northern gable roof tower. In the modern interior there are some older pieces of equipment.

Monument protection

The building is under monument protection and is listed in the list of architectural monuments in Waltenhofen of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation under number D-7-80-143-9.
