Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene

The Catholic Chapel of St. Maria Magdalena is a listed church building in Kellinghausen , a district of Rüthen in the Soest district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

There is evidence of a previous building since the 17th century. The previous building from 1790 was canceled in 1911. Heinrich Mündelein was the site manager and planner of today's chapel, which was built in 1911. In the square, plastered hall with corner blocks there is a wall-high apse in the east . In the west there is a rectangular gallery extension . The mansard roof was crowned with a ridge turret.

Furnishing

  • A box altar with presented columns, the altar picture , an oil painting on canvas, is marked with H. Volkhausen 1894. It shows St. Maria Magdalena as penitent.
  • The antependium from the beginning of the 18th century, also in oil on canvas, depicts Mary as the queen of heaven.

organ

The organ was built in 1882 by Wilhelm Küper from Linden ( Hattingen district ). She came to Kellinghausen in 1912. The disposition was changed around 1930: 2 ′ and 2 23 ′ were replaced by two 8′- stops that were deleted , partly on an additional pneumatic drawer . The Mebold workshop restored the instrument in 2006. The disposition is as follows:
