The St. Marien branch church (formerly the castle chapel of Our Lady) is a Roman Catholic church in Steeg , a district of the Buchbach market (Upper Bavaria).

history

The church was built in the 18th century as the castle chapel of Steeg Castle. Today it is the last remaining part of the palace complex.

description

The chapel was built in the Baroque style as a simple rectangular building without any structure. The hall has a flat roof. A gallery for the lords of the castle was drawn in on the western side. A small roof turret is attached on the west side .

The furnishings include the high altar from the beginning of the 18th century and 12 heads of the apostles in medallion form, painted in oil on canvas, from the early 18th century.
