The St. Martha Slopes are wide and up to 3 km long mountain slopes in the north of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . They extend from the San José Pass in a southeasterly direction to the banks of Saint Martha Cove .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1993 based on the name of the neighboring bay. Its namesake is probably Martha von Bethanien , a figure from the Gospel of Luke in the Bible .
