The San José Pass ( Spanish Paso San José ) is a mountain pass up to 200 m high on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It runs in a northwest-southeast direction between the Lachman Crags and the Stickle Ridge . It is flanked on both sides by chalk cliffs .
Argentine scientists named the pass in 1978 after doing geological work here. It is named after Joseph of Nazareth from the New Testament .
