Gudrun Trausmuth

Gudrun Trausmuth (* 10. October 1969 in Linz as Gudrun Födermayr ) is an Austrian literary scholar.

Life

Gudrun Trausmuth grew up in the Austrian-Bavarian border area. After graduating from high school in Untergriesbach in Bavaria, she studied German philology and Romance studies at the University of Vienna , with study visits to Angers and Paris . After a diploma thesis on funeral sermons in the Baroque era, she did her doctorate with Werner Welzig at the Vienna Institute for German Studies on the text element of the sermon in narrative literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. She worked as a translator and worked from 1998 to 2004 as an education officer at the Catholic University CongregationVienna. From 2001 to 2009 she was in the founding and management team of the philosophical-theological study program Duc in altum! .

She has been working in radio and print journalism since 2013. She is the editorial staff of Radio Maria Austria and publishes regularly in the German newspaper Die Tagespost and on kath.net . Gudrun Trausmuth gives lectures on literary, reading-pedagogical and cultural-philosophical topics. In collaboration with the philosopher Hanna-Barbara Gerl-Falkovitz , Gudrun Trausmuth publishes the Small Library of the West ( Be & Be-Verlag Heiligenkreuz). She is married and has two sons.
