Hanna-Barbara Gerl-Falkovitz
Hanna-Barbara Gerl-Falkovitz (born November 23, 1945 in Oberwappenöst / Upper Palatinate ) is a German philosopher , linguist and political scientist .
Career
Gerl-Falkovitz studied philosophy, German and political science in Munich and Heidelberg and was in 1970 when Ernesto Grassi Dr. phil. PhD. In 1979 habilitated they about the Italian Renaissance philosophy. In 1995 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Philosophical-Theological University of Vallendar . She was married to Hans-Bernhard Wuermeling until his death in 2019 .
She was the director of studies at Rothenfels Castle and taught as a private lecturer at the universities in Munich, Bayreuth , Tübingen and Eichstätt . She received a professorship for philosophy at the Weingarten University of Education . Since 1993 she has held the chair for the philosophy of religion and comparative religious studies at the Technical University of Dresden . When she retired on April 1, 2011, her chair was also closed. In the meantime she heads the newly founded institute EUPHRat ("European Institute for Philosophy and Religion") at the Philosophical-Theological College Benedict XVI. in Heiligenkreuz near Vienna.
Her research focuses on the philosophy of religion of the 19th and 20th centuries with the philosophers Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel , Søren Kierkegaard , Friedrich Nietzsche , Edmund Husserl , Martin Heidegger , Romano Guardini and Simone Weil . In the anthropology of the sexes, in the theological foundations of modern times, the focus is on Cusanus , Jakob Böhme , Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling and Franz Xaver von Baader, as well as on phenomenology . She is co-editor of the 24-volume complete edition of Edith Stein's works . One of her central themes is forgiveness and forgiveness , to which she dedicated two of her books.
Gerl-Falkovitz has been a member of the University Council of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt since January 2012 .
She is the author of the Catholic weekly newspaper for politics, society and culture " Die Tagespost " .
Honorary positions
She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Institute for Youth and Society (DIJG). Gerl-Falkovitz has had a partnership with the Saxon State High School Sankt Afra in Meißen for a number of years, where he occasionally gives lectures on various topics. She is the first chairwoman of the Freundeskreis Mooshausen e. V. (since 1992), Chairwoman of the Weischedel Fund of the WBG Darmstadt (since 2006), shareholder and curator of the Robert Bosch Stiftung Stuttgart (since 2001), Vice-President of the Edith Stein Society Germany (ESGD, since 1994), Vice-President of Gertrud von le Fort company (since 2003) and board member of WBG Darmstadt (since 1990). Since 2007 she has been on the Scientific Board of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna . She is also active on the advisory board of the Central European Institute for Philosophy (SIF) in Prague , on the advisory board of "Youth and Society" (Reichelsheim), on the advisory board of Zs. "Political Opinion", on the advisory board of Zs. "VjS for scientific pedagogy ", In the advisory board of Zs." Freiburger Rundbrief "and in the advisory board of" Promotio humana ". She is a member of the Görres Society (since 1981), the Walter Raymond Foundation, the German Society for Philosophy of Religion and on the scientific committee of the yearbook “Politica e Religione” (since 2007).
