The Islamic Center Vienna is a mosque in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf in the Bruckhaufen settlement at Am Bruckhaufen 3 . It is the first ever mosque to be built in Austria.

The mosque was built from 1975 to 1979 by builder Richard Lugner on behalf of the Saudi Arabian King Faisal ibn Abd al-Aziz . The minaret is 32 meters high, the diameter of the dome is 20 meters. Facilities for maintaining Islamic culture are connected to the center.

The Islamic Center was opened on November 20, 1979 in the presence of the then Austrian Federal President Rudolf Kirchschläger .

The director of the Islamic Center is a member of the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Vienna. The Islamic Center is the Muslim World League ( Muslim World League received), which mainly from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is financed.

During the symposium “The Unease with Religion” of the Institute for Religiosity in Psychiatry & Psychotherapy on June 18, 2011, Gregor Henckel-Donnersmarck , a high Catholic dignitary, gave a lecture in the Vienna mosque for the first time.
