Catholic Parish Church of St. Antonius in Vienna-Schwarzlackenau

The Schwarzlackenau parish church (also: St. Antonius von Padua Church ) is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Schwarzlackenau settlement in the Jedlesee district of the 21st  Viennese district of Floridsdorf . The parish is located in the city Deanery 21 of the Vienna Archdiocese belonging city Vicariate Vienna . It is the holy Antonius ordained .

history

On the initiative of Prelate Josef Gorbach , an emergency church service was set up in the Schwarzlackenau settlement in 1937 in a decrepit wooden barracks.

The church, built according to the plans of the architect Leo Splett , was consecrated in 1964 . The 28 glass windows were designed by Leopold Birstinger in 1963/1964 .

In 1960 Leo Splett created a clear, very reserved architecture that surprises with its timeless freshness. The strict cubic room has excellent lighting, the simple tower was built onto the church, the strict portal front is generously structured.
