The Analecta Cisterciensia (abbreviation ACi) are the scientific organ of the Cistercian order . The multilingual magazine has been published since 1945, initially sporadically but soon annually.

From 1968 to 2007 it was edited by Polkarp Zakar (Archabbot of Zirc and Emeritus Abbot General of the Order). During his tenure, the magazine increasingly dealt with religious law and the Cistercian history of modern times ; in principle, the periodical is devoted to all aspects of the order in each epoch. The Cistercian and historian Alkuin Schachenmayr has published the magazine since 2007 .

Other Cistercian journals, such as Collectanea Cisterciensia , Cîteaux (Commentarii cistercienses) , Cistercian Studies Quarterly , Cistercium , Cistercian Chronicle , and Rivista Cistercense predominantly emphasize medieval themes and the spiritual treatises of the members of the order. The Analecta Cisterciensia mainly publish scientific monographs with an emphatic research character.
