St. Martin (Lauchröden)
The St. Martin Church is the Evangelical Lutheran church in the Lauchröden district of the Gerstungen community in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .
history
The roots of the Martinskirche lie in the Romanesque , the consecration of the Martinskapelle in 1144 is also the first documented mention of the place Lauchröden. The building has been rebuilt several times over the centuries.
In 2013 a storm damaged the church building, and a lightning protection system was installed during the repairs.
architecture
The church tower, which is located on the west side of the church, and a half-timbered bay window on the south side are striking.
