The Evangelical Church of St. Michaelis is in the Menteroda community in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

history

A church in the village was first mentioned in 1506. A wooden church was built in its place between 1556 and 1562 with the support of Duke Johannes Friedrich the Middle .

The foundation stone for the stone church in its present form was laid in 1716; it was inaugurated in 1722. In 1828 and 1897 renovation measures were carried out, of which the painting has been preserved to this day. In 1860 the gilded tower button was put on. In 1989 monument preservation improvements began under the supervision of the preservation authorities . On August 19, 1995, the rededication and the award of the patronage of St. Michael took place.
