St. Nicolaus in Kollenbey

St. Nicolaus Kollenbey is a listed church in the village of Kollenbey in the municipality of Schkopau in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is listed as a monument under registration number 094 20862 . It belongs to the parish Merseburg St. Viti the church district Merseburg Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Due to the island-like location of the community on a hill between the Saale and the White Elster , it is assumed that a separate church was built in the village very early on. For centuries, the place was cut off from the surrounding villages by floods every year, making it impossible to go to church in a neighboring community. According to the roof flag, the church was last rebuilt in 1877, with the entire western part being rebuilt. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra .
