description

Church interior

The late Gothic choir tower church was built while Gabriel von Eyb Eichstätter was prince-bishop (1496–1535). In 1728 the church was made Baroque (stucco by Franz Xaver Horneis ); the furnishings are Gothic, Baroque and Classicist. The current painting comes from P. Baumgartner from Pfaffenhofen in 1954. The pulpit comes from the secularized Notre Dame monastery in Eichstätt. The tower has a gable roof with two stepped gables. There are three bells in the tower, one from 1785 by the bell founder Matthias Stapf in Eichstätt and two from 1922 from the Bochum Association . Until 1975, Pfünz belonged to the parish of Pietenfeld and since then to the parish of the Holy Family in Eichstätt.

It is entered in the list of monuments as number D-1-76-165-44 . There it is described as follows:

Catholic branch church St. Nikolaus, late Gothic choir tower, 16th century, hall church with steep roof, modified in Baroque style in 1728; with equipment; Tower with stepped gable; Cemetery walling.
