The church

The Protestant village church St. Nikolaus is located in the Milbitz district of the Königsee municipality in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

The first village church was built in 1340. It is uncertain whether the church, mentioned in 1603 as Nicolaikirche, is a new building or still the building from the Middle Ages. The current church was built between 1760 and 1786. The interior construction began in 1774 and lasted until 1794.

The organ takes up space on two floors. It was built by the Milbitz organ builder Daniel Schulze.
