Church in Quittelsdorf

The Protestant St. Wenzel Church is in the Quittelsdorf district of the Königsee municipality in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

A pastor in Quittelsdorf is mentioned in a document as early as 1292. According to an inscription , the oldest part of today's church, the steeple , was built in 1513 after the old tower collapsed in 1509. In the course of the long time it has been extended and converted several times. In 1778 the tower was given a hood and the nave was completed between 1790 and 1793.

The two bells date from 1777 and 1785. In 1791 a two-manual organ with 22 registers was installed by the Milbitz organ builder Johann Andreas Schulze.
