St. Pankratius Chapel in Büderich-Gest
Interior with relief of St. Pancras

The St. Pankratius Chapel in the Büdericher Bauerschaft Gest was inaugurated on August 26, 1989.

The chapel , which bears the patronage of St. Pankratius , was built by the St. Pankratius Schützenbruderschaft Gest in the area of the site of the former Mariengeist monastery in Gest, Klosterstrasse / Melkweg . In memory of the former pest house in Ginderich , which had to give way to necessary road construction work in the Marienstraße / Schwanenhofstraße area a few decades earlier, a hexagonal floor plan was chosen. The foundation stone was laid on July 25, 1988. A certificate with facts and figures about the construction of the chapel was walled in behind the foundation stone. On August 26, 1989, President Hermsen blessed the chapel.

In the center of the chapel is a relief of St. Pancras . The wooden panels in the interior bear the names of the rifle brothers who died or went missing in the two world wars.
