The Roman Catholic Church of St. Vitus in the Philippsburg district of Rheinsheim is the neo-Gothic church of the parish of Oberhausen-Philippsburg in the Archdiocese of Freiburg . It was built according to plans by the Mainz diocesan master builder Ludwig Becker from June 17, 1894 to June 17, 1900 as a replacement for a baroque church that had become too small and was demolished in 1893.

The church has a 75 meter high tower and is also known as the “Rheinsheim Cathedral”. St. Vitus suffered considerable damage in World War II , which was repaired by 1953. The two-manual organ comes from the organ building workshop Wilhelm Schwarz & Sohn in Überlingen.
