St. Walburga Church in Schwabbruck

The Catholic parish church of St. Walburga in Schwabbruck , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau , was built in the late Gothic period . The year 1493 can be found behind the high altar and the year 1477 on the gray baptismal font. The church tower is more than 700 years old. Gothic features were partially displaced by later alterations and redesigns during the Baroque and Classicism periods .

Schwabbruck cartridge

A picture of the church patroness St. Walburga from 1885 can be seen in the right nave. On the two side altars are St. Magnus , also called the Apostle of the Allgäu, and St. Wendelin , patron saint of domestic animals. The diocese saints St. Ulrich and St. Afra have found their place on the high altar .

Easter festival circle

Inside the church there are excellent frescos from 1795, which were created by the Augsburg academy director Johann Josef Anton Huber. The frescoes show the entire Easter festival circle and thus make the church into an Easter and Resurrection Church, a specialty among the village churches of the Pfaffenwinkel. The frescoes have been classified as "... valuable works" by the Bavarian General Conservatory.
