The Roman Catholic listed chapel Sankt Wendelin in the parcel of St. Wendelin in the market town of Frastanz in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg belongs to the Frastanz parish and thus to the Feldkirch dean's office in the Feldkirch diocese . Their patron saint is St. Wendelin .

The chapel (about 494  m above sea level ) is located in the middle of the market town of Frastanz. The Samina flows just 25 meters from the chapel . Several streets around the chapel are named as Beim Sankt Wendelin . Among other things, a short section of the state road L67 (also called: Alte Landstraße ).

history

The chapel from the 15th century was renewed or completely rebuilt after the battle of Frastanz (1499). A sword and a halberd , which came from the battle of Frastanz , are said to have been kept under the porch in the chapel in the 19th century .

A figure of St. Johann Nepomuk from the 18th century. The glass paintings are by Martin Häusle (1963). The chapel is now used as a funeral hall and is not open to the public.

The two summer linden trees ( Tilia platyphyllos ) by the chapel have been protected as natural monuments since 1973 .
