St Paul's Square , is a Georgian square in the Jewelery Quarter in Birmingham , England , named after the standing at its center church . It is the last remaining Georgian square in the city.

Built by the Colmore family on Newhall Estate from 1777–1779, it became an elegant and popular place in the mid-19th century before being swallowed up by workshops and factories a few decades later, with facades of some existing buildings being demolished to make room for shops and factory entrances. In the 1970s the square was restored and many of its buildings are now classified as "Particularly Significant" landmarks.

Today St Paul's Square is a lively place to live, work and go out. In addition to numerous cafes, bars and restaurants that frame it, some residential buildings have been built in its vicinity. The newest of these - operated by Chord Development - has 148 residential units and, in addition to two new wings of an old factory building, has a communal courtyard designed by the award-winning landscape architect Alan Gardner.

Also in St Paul's Square is St Paul's Club , founded in 1859 - the oldest and most exclusive private club in the English Midlands . The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists has its gallery and office space right next door .

The square is connected to local public transport via St Paul's tram stop .

St Paul's Church

Built from 1777 to plans by Roger Eykyn from Wolverhampton on a property bequeathed by Charles Colmore, the church was consecrated in 1779. It was the church of Birmingham's first manufacturers and traders - both Matthew Boulton and James Watt had their own stalls in it, which were then for sale.

The church is rectangular in plan and resembles St Martin in the Fields in London. It is classified as a "building of extraordinary, partly international importance".

The spire was added by Francis Goodwin in 1823 . On the east window there is an enamelled glass painting from 1791, on which the conversion of Paul is shown.
