Far East State Technical University
The Far Eastern State Technical University ( Russian Дальневосточный государственный технический университет , Dalnewostotschny gosudarstwenny technitscheski uniwersitet), short FESTU , is a state technical university in the Russian city of Vladivostok on the Pacific Ocean .
On February 20, 1930, the Far Eastern Polytechnic Institute (Russian: Дальневосточный политехнический институт) was founded. Although the State University of the Far East Vladivostok is the actual successor to the Far Eastern Institute founded in 1899 , the former building of the institute is now the main building of the university.
