The Ural State Technical University ( Russian Уральский государственный технический университет - УПИ имени первого Президента России Б.Н.Ельцина ) was a Russian university and in 1920 in the city of Yekaterinburg as Polytechnic Institute of the Urals founded. There were 180 professors and over 2200 academic staff as well as over 40,000 students. Since 2008 it has been named after the first Russian President, Boris Yeltsin , who studied here. In 2010, the Ural Federal University , also named after Yeltsin, was founded and the university was incorporated.
