Rantzau State Forest

The State Forest Rantzau is a 113 hectare forest in the Pinneberg district in Schleswig-Holstein , which is protected as an FFH area State Forest Rantzau east of Tornesch . The entire forest lies within the LSG landscape protection area of the Pinneberg district .
description
The forest area is located east of Tornesch . The vegetation shows an old, closed beech-oak forest on the edge of the Bilsbek lowland. Remains of a 2,100 year old furnace for smelting lawn iron ore were found in the forest . The place of discovery is signposted with the note that nothing is left today.
