State medal of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for special social merits

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The state medal of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for special social merits is an award in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate that has existed since 1972 and is awarded to people who have achieved special merits in the social field through many years of work and exemplary commitment.

The State Medal was first approved as an award with the foundation decree of June 22, 1972. It bore the coat of arms of Rhineland-Palatinate on the front, around which the words "THE PRESIDENT OF THE MINISTER OF THE LAND OF RHEINLAND-PALATINATE" are written. On the back it says: "FOR SPECIAL SOCIAL MERIT". The medal has a diameter of 45 mm and is made of 925 silver . After Malu Dreyer led the state government in 2013 , a new decree replaced the word Prime Minister on the front with Prime Minister. Otherwise the medal remained unchanged.

The member of the state government responsible for social affairs is authorized to make proposals to the Prime Minister, to whom proposals from citizens can also be directed through the mayors and district administrators. A maximum of ten awards should take place per year.
