State Cup of Rio Grande do Norte

The Rio Grande do Norte State Cup , or Copa RN for short in the Portuguese language , is the football association cup of the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil . It has been organized by the National Federation of the Federação Norte-rio-grandense de Futebol (FNF) since 2004.

Originally, the State Cup was played in its own tournament mode until it was set up in 2011 as the second phase of the Rio Grande do Norte state championship . The winner of the State Cup will play for the State Championship in a final match against the winner of the first phase, the Natal City Cup . The qualification for the Copa do Nordeste and the Copa do Brasil is still associated with winning the State Cup .
