The Stave Church Undredal is a stave church with a gable roof and is located in the small town of Undredal in the municipality Aurland in the Norwegian province Vestland at a branch of the Sognefjord , the Aurlandsfjord .

The church was probably built in 1147. It is the smallest in Scandinavia that is still in use and has 40 seats.

There are traces of a Svalgang around the church. The nave is extended to the west by a bell tower and a vestibule (with a gable roof). The choir is more recent and the same width as the nave.

In the church there is a first bell from the Middle Ages that is no longer in use. Two new bells from 1884 and 1996 hang in the tower.

The walls have the original decor from the 17th century and the ceiling is painted with biblical figures and angels. The angels are clearly drawn as female beings, which is unusual for medieval angel depictions. There are also some historical furnishings: a prayer chair (knee bench) (1647), a baptismal font (approx. 1680), a pulpit (1696) and two candlesticks (1702).

In 1722 the Svalgang of the church was removed and the first window installed. Around 1850 the vestibule and the last part of the nave were added. The inside of the church was painted white. After a major renovation in 1961, the white paint was removed and the original paintings were visible again. The church was restored again in 1984. There was a new floor and new planking outside. The roof and the church tower were also repaired later.
