A group of mushrooms that are not closely related , in which the spore-forming layers are enlarged not by lamellae or tubes, but by spines, is summarized as spiny mushrooms . The best-known edible representatives of hedgehogs fungus , hawk mushroom and jitter tooth and hericium about the Hericium . Since the mushrooms are taxonomically and genetically very distant from each other, they are an example of a convergent evolution .
