The Stade Municipal de Kénitra is a football stadium in Kenitra , a coastal city with around 400,000 inhabitants north of the Moroccan capital Rabat . It was opened in 1941 and is the home of long-time first division club KAC Kénitra .
location
The sports facility is located on the southern edge of the city center, just a few hundred meters east of the main train station.
Construction of the stadium
The Stade Municipal de Kénitra has two grandstands on the long sides of the pitch and a capacity of around 15,000 seats. One of the grandstands is covered. The venue has seen only a few changes since it opened; the last major construction work was the installation of a floodlight system and the laying of artificial turf in 2008.
The stadium has been expanding on the back of the goal since 2014.
The uncovered back straight is home to the Helala Boys , an internationally known ultra group of the KAC Kénitra.
