The Stade Pierre Pibarot is a stadium in Alès , Gard department , in the Occitanie region ( France ). It is named after the former football player and coach Pierre Pibarot, who was born in Alès . Opened in 1933 as the Stade Municipal de la Prairie , it was given its current name in 1980. After the merger of Olympique Alès with Cévennes Sport , a new grandstand was built in 1947. It got the name of the then President of Cévennes André Larguier . In 1992 a new west stand was built; which replaced the old wooden grandstand. Today it offers 9,000 seats (including 5,600 seats).
